New Barn Riding Club Rules of Membership

  1. Members shall be expected to conduct themselves with dignity. Bad language to any judge or official will result in the cancellation of all points on that day.
    A second offence will result in the expulsion of the member.
    Any members seen or reported by a Club official for misuse of an animal will incur the same penalty.
  2. Members are expected to support the Club's winter activities whenever possible.
  3. No young (under 4yrs), lame, infirm or ill ponies to be ridden at the shows or rallies. Without permission, no Colts/Stallions.
  4. POINTS for trophies etc. start from the date you join. There will be no backdating. Points are on the same rider/pony basis.
  5. Club members must wear a red arm band and carry their Club Card in their pocket at the time of judging to be eligible for the Club's rosette. The card to be signed by the judge or steward before you leave the ring. Only one rosette per show.
  6. All members must wear a hat with a three point harness. PAS 015 / BSEN 1384 / ASTM 1163 (Kitemark or SEI). A back protector is advisable when jumping.
  7. Whilst there is no regulation dress, members are expected to turn out neatly and cleanly. Jackets must be worn in the ring. Club sweat shirts are available in assorted colours.
  8. Membership is in three sections: Individual Riding Member, Family Members and Non-Riding Member.
    Riding and Family Members are eligible for reduced entry fees and free entry into rallies / demonstrations etc. where non-members have to pay an entrance fee. Non-Riding Members are not eligible for the reduced entry fees but are eligible for free entry to functions where non-members pay a fee.
    Any member representing the Club on a team will have their entry fee (not transport) paid by the Club.
  9. Members shall be held responsible for their guests' behaviour at all events and functions.
  10. The Club year starts from 12-00 noon each October 1st. Membership is then due for the next 12 months.
  11. Each Member must be prepared to do a DUTY DAY. If you can not do your day it is up to you to get someone else to do it for you. Failure will result in all points from 1 Show or 10 Penalty points - whichever is the greater - being removed from your score. 5 Points will be given for each and every Duty Day you attend. Duty Day prize to be given at Presentation Evening.
